When Mother Goose and her family discover that their beloved goose has the magical gift of laying golden eggs, the fortunes of the village of Goose-on-the-Wold are transformed. But where there is happiness, the mysterious Discontent is never far away. Whispering promises of fame, beauty and admiration, Discontent tempts Mother Goose to want more than she already has. Can friendship, family and a little fairy magic remind her what truly matters before it's too late? Packed with laugh-out-loud comedy, spectacular songs, colourful characters and plenty of audience participation, this heart-warming pantomime is a golden treat for the whole family.

About Us

We are New Romney Am Dram!

Formed in Autumn 2017, New Romney Am Dram (NRAD) puts on two annual productions ranging from pantomimes, musicals and plays in the Romney Marsh area.

We've come a long way!

Our first production was a pantomime called "Jack Frost's Easter Adventure" which we performed in 2018 over the Easter Holidays, which was the first time many of us had performed on stage!

Here's to many more productions!

If it wasn't for our audience, we wouldn't be where we are today! We've put on over 10 productions, and we have many more to go!

The Theatre

Getting Here
Our spectacular theatre is located at The Marsh Academy, one of the greatest assets in our local community.

The Marsh Academy is located at: Station Rd, New Romney, TN28 8BB.

Upon entry to the carpark, there is a gate on the left, follow this to get to the entrance of the theatre.

We always have illuminated signs in the car park, you can always contact us for more information.

Accessibility
We thrive on making our theatre accessible to everyone.

Our theatre has many facilities and performances that are accessible to everyone, including 9 wheelchair spaces avaliable. These are front row seats with a wheelchair accessible hallway leading to them.

We also offer a relaxed performance with our pantomime that has been adapted to suit people who might require a more relaxed environment when going to the theatre. For more details please see our FAQs.

Our Theatre Rules
Smoking is not permitted on any part of The Marsh Academy premises, if you wish to smoke, we ask that you please do so offsite.

We expect all audience members to treat our front of house team, cast, school staff, and other audience members with respect.

We also ask that audience members do not take pictures during a performance. This sometimes is an exception for the finale, but we inform audiences during our pre-show announcement whether this is allowed.

We aim to create an environment that allows everyone to feel safe, and have an enjoyable visit.

Frequently asked questions

A relaxed performance is adapted to suit people who might require a more relaxed environment when going to the theatre. Usually, these are adults or children with learning difficulties, autism or sensory communication disorders.

Some technical changes have been made to the performance – this includes quieter music, reducing loud or surprising sound effects, avoiding strobe lighting and keeping the main house lights on but dimmed.

We also provide a ‘chill-out’ area in the foyer for people to visit if the experience becomes overwhelming. Generally, people are allowed to enter and leave the auditorium freely, and there is an open attitude towards audience noise and movement.

Yes, tickets can be purchased in person via our box office on the day of a performance at The Marsh Academy Theatre.

However, due to availability, we do encourage audience members to purchase tickets in advance via our website or by ringing our box office. (07434895113)

Tickets can also be purchased in person at The Clippers Barbers, 19 Littlestone Road, TN28 8LN.

We accept both cash and card at the theatre for tickets, food, beverages, and all merchandise.

Adult membership is for ages 16 and upwards. If interested, please e-mail for more information, or just turn up at 8PM on a Wednesday at, The Romney Marsh Community Hub, Sunflower House, Rolfe Lane, New Romney, Kent, TN28 8JR Rolfe Lane, New Romney. (The Hub)

NRAD Youth is open to any child aged 10-18 who wants to perform on stage. They must be interested in either dance, acting or singing or all three, and they must be prepared to perform in front of their peers and an audience.

We aim to produce at least 2 shows a year including joining the adult members in their annual Pantomime. This is a fantastic opportunity for the younger members to experience a full blown production with professional standards of sound, lighting and costumes, all aspects of the show are as professional as we can make it.

NRAD Youth meet on Monday evenings between 6pm and 8:00pm, at The Romney Marsh Comunity Hub, Sunflower House, Rolfe Lane, New Romney, TN28 8JR.

(Meetings are usually suspended during school holidays).

All our shows are supported by qualified licenced chaperones who ensure the safety of the children throughout the production.

Introducing NRAD Junior!

NRAD Junior open to any child aged 6-9, who wants to perform on stage.

Sessions will be run by Jade Doig, payment is £5 per session, or £4 if paying for a whole term.

NRAD Junior meet on Monday evenings between 4:30pm and 5:30pm, at The Romney Marsh Comunity Hub, Sunflower House, Rolfe Lane, New Romney, TN28 8JR.

(Meetings are usually suspended during school holidays).

All our shows are supported by qualified licenced chaperones who ensure the safety of the children throughout the production.

For NRAD Adult membership, there is an annual subscription of £30. There is also a show fee from £30 for those taking part in a production.

For NRAD Youth membership, we have a weekly fee of £4 per child which is payable from their second week (first week free).

For NRAD Junior membership, payment is £5 per session or £4 if paying for a whole term.
